Sobi graduated from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Drama (Major in Acting). Sobi is extremely passionate about theatre and has taken part in drama productions of various scales in Hong Kong as well as TV advertisement shootings and as a cast member of concerts and seasonal performances in Hong Kong’s amusement parks. 

 

Besides drama, Sobi has also been actively building her singing career. At the age of 18, Sobi was already placed as first runner-up in the EEG New Talent Singing Championship 2014, as well as winning numerous singing contests around Hong Kong. Sobi was also one of the Top 50 contestants of ViuTV’s King Maker III (全民造星 III) and was one of the Top 11 trainees of the Yuen Wrong Training Camp 2021 (冤枉新秀訓練營2021). Sobi is now the main vocalist of the Hong Kong-based desert rock band “The Lemon Ones”.

As a teacher, Sobi has conducted classes in English drama for students of all ages, ranging from 3 year old toddlers to adults in the working force. Sobi believes that through learning acting and voice projection skills, students will gain confidence in their posture, acting and most importantly their language skills.

Sobi is also an experienced vocal coach for pop singing (Cantonese / English / Mandarin). She uses ‘speech level singing’ (SLS) as her fundamental teaching blocks and has developed her own methods to assist students in understanding how to project their voice properly. For more advanced students, Sobi will provide training in discovering different resonance areas in students’ bodies and eventually how to transit smoothly between vocal bridges
